Our Mission: To stand guard over, and be the watchdog for, the future health of the Great Dane breed. Through the use of an open, on-line database, the Great Dane Sentinel Foundation will serve as an unbiased repository for all Great Dane owners to contribute accurate information on the health of the dogs they own, so that all may make informed breeding and purchase choices based on fact and science.

Our Goals: The Great Dane Sentinel database will be a valuable research tool for the future of the Great Dane breed. By working with owners and breeders alike, the Great Dane Sentinel Foundation can offer support to ongoing research in the health issues of the Great Dane breed, as well as working with other breed-related research such as that sponsored by the Great Dane Health Foundation, the AKC, or other canine health related organizations.

How can you help?

An undertaking such as this takes time and money to get things off the ground. Run by volunteers, the Great Dane Sentinel is working to get a structured online database system in place so that breeders and owners alike can begin inputting data for the dogs they own. The Great Dane Sentinel Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation, incorporated in the state of Ohio. 501(c)3 application is pending.
